As a Project Manager at Phase 3, you will play a pivotal role in delivering an exceptional consultancy experience for our clients. You will lead client projects from initiation to completion, managing project teams to ensure successful outcomes and client satisfaction.
You will be responsible for the end-to-end delivery of HCM and Payroll system implementations on behalf of our clients, working with one or more of the following platforms:
- Sage People
- Sage Payroll
- Sage Intacct
- Sage Inventory Planner
- iTrent
- PeopleXD
We are seeking applicants with proven experience in implementing one or more of the above systems, ideally gained within a system implementation partner or HR consultancy environment. In addition, candidates must have experience in delivering projects under Time and Materials service contracts.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead client meetings to explore consultancy requirements and discuss scope for project governance and review – including independent preparation
- Take responsibility with colleagues, clients and partners to develop project initiation documents and project plans – assigning work packages to self and team
- Apply knowledge and training to deliver consultancy requirements on time with excellent follow up for a portfolio of clients
- Working well with conflicting priorities and deadlines and the ability to prioritise workloads whilst not exceeding deadlines
- Use reporting tools to create, edit and schedule analytics suites for clients
- Manage both internal quality assurance testing and advising on user acceptance testing with responsibility for the testing plans
- Act as the lead contact for Phase 3 with clients and partners
- Devise appropriate governance processes, change control, risk management and communication strategies
- Develop and provide high quality documents
- Offer a proactive accountability for the highest calibre of professionalism, service and accuracy for team and project work when assigned
- Financial responsibility for the profit and loss of implementation projects
- To work closely with consultants to ensure customer satisfaction at all stages of an implementation, including regular feedback on issues and opportunities
- Create regular project updates and update customer success cards
- Maintain project planning tools and systems
- Ensure timesheets and allocated hours are correctly reported to ensure invoicing reflective of work delivered
Essential Requirements
- Proven experience leading full project life cycles for IT/software implementations
- Skilled in managing cross-functional projects with responsibility for scope, timeline, budget control, and resource planning
- Strong commercial awareness, ensuring profitable delivery and effective client value realisation
- Proficient in adapting delivery approaches using methodologies like Agile, PRINCE2, or Waterfall
- Solid understanding of HR, Payroll, or Finance systems across multiple sectors
- Familiar with HCM or Payroll platforms and their business impact
- Strong stakeholder management and client engagement skills
- Clear and effective communicator, both written and verbal
- Able to lead solution discussions and align diverse stakeholders
- Confident in problem-solving and continuous learning
- Highly organised, with strong time and task management
- Self-directed and adaptable, with a collaborative and accountable approach
- Actively contributes to knowledge sharing and team success
- Recognised project management accreditation (e.g., PRINCE2, PMP, AgilePM)

Salary Range (DOE)
£35,000 - £50,000 + OTE
