Position Summary:
We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Remote Payroll Clerk to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for processing payroll, maintaining accurate records, and ensuring compliance with all applicable laws and company policies, all from a remote work environment. The ideal candidate is organized, trustworthy, and experienced in payroll processes and software.
Key Responsibilities:
• Process payroll for hourly, salaried, and contract employees across various locations
• Collect and verify timekeeping information and employee data remotely
• Enter, review, and validate payroll data in the payroll system
• Ensure accurate calculation of wages, overtime, deductions, and taxes
• Manage and maintain digital payroll records and reports
• Coordinate with HR and Accounting teams for onboarding, terminations, and pay adjustments
• Address employee inquiries related to payroll, direct deposit, tax forms, and discrepancies
• Assist with payroll audits, tax filings, and end-of-year reporting (e.g., W-2, 1099)
• Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll regulations
• Maintain confidentiality of sensitive payroll and employee information
Qualifications:
• High school diploma or GED required; associate degree or coursework in accounting, business, or HR is a plus
• 1–3 years of experience in payroll processing or related role
• Experience with payroll systems (e.g., ADP, Paychex, QuickBooks Payroll, Gusto, etc.)
• Strong computer skills; proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Google Workspace
• Excellent attention to detail and high level of accuracy
• Strong organizational and time management skills, especially in a remote environment
• Ability to communicate clearly and professionally via email, phone, and video conferencing
• Self-motivated and able to work independently with minimal supervision
• Knowledge of payroll laws and tax regulations
Work Environment & Tools:
• 100% remote position
