What is the role?
We are looking for an HR Generalist with outstanding communication, organizational, and time management skills. This person will also have strong administrative and IT skills with the ability to multitask and adapt in a fast-paced environment. A successful HR Generalist at Paradigm will also display strong problem solving and decision-making skills couple with a deep understanding of compliance, benefits administration, and payroll. Candidates will have meticulous attention to detail and excel at customer service for all employees.
In this role, you will:
- Recruit, interview, and facilitate the hiring of job applicants for open positions; collaborate with departmental managers to understand skills and competencies required for openings.
- Manage the new employee onboarding process, including payroll and benefit setup, issue all mandated information to new hires, assist with benefits enrollment, perform orientations, and update records of new staff.
- Manage the offboarding process, including exit interviews, termination paperwork, and facilitating equipment returns.
- Perform routine tasks required to administer and execute human resources programs, including but not limited to, compensation, benefits and leave, disciplinary matters, disputes and investigations, performance and talent management.
- Handle employment-related inquiries from applicants, employees, and supervisors.
- Assist with drafting documents related to employment, including offer letters, confidentiality agreements, and comp agreements.
- Maintain compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations.
- Attend and participate in employee disciplinary meetings, terminations, and investigations.
- Maintain all records and systems related to payroll in a timely manner and partner with the Finance department to review/approve semi-monthly payroll across all companies.
- Maintain digital copies of employees’ records.
- Maintain employee relationships and be the first point of contact across employees for general HR questions.
- Benefits administration including: main point of contact with benefit providers; answer employees’ inquiry and resolve any issues.
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or a related field
- 3 to 5 years of experience in Human Resources
- Exposure to Labor Law and employment equity regulations
- Effective HR administration and people management skills
- Exposure to payroll practices; experience with Paylocity is a plus
- Understanding of HR functions and best practices
