Job Title: Lead SAP EC Payroll Functional ConsultantLocation: 100% Remote (USA)Job Summary:

We are seeking a Lead SAP EC Payroll Functional Consultant with deep expertise in SAP SuccessFactors Employee Central Payroll (ECP) to lead payroll transformation initiatives. The role involves driving end-to-end payroll implementations, supporting global payroll operations, and ensuring seamless integration with SAP SuccessFactors Employee Central (EC) and other enterprise systems. The ideal candidate will act as a functional lead, working closely with business stakeholders, HR, and IT teams to design scalable payroll solutions aligned with compliance and organizational requirements.

Roles & Responsibilities:

  • Lead full lifecycle implementations of SAP EC Payroll (ECP) including design, configuration, testing, and deployment
  • Gather and analyze business requirements; translate them into functional specifications and payroll schemas
  • Configure payroll elements including wage types, schemas, rules, and payroll processes
  • Integrate EC Payroll with upstream/downstream systems (e.g., time systems, finance, benefits)
  • Ensure compliance with US payroll regulations, tax laws, and statutory reporting
  • Drive data migration activities from legacy payroll systems to ECP
  • Lead payroll testing cycles (Unit Testing, SIT, UAT, Parallel Runs)
  • Provide production support, troubleshooting, and payroll issue resolution
  • Mentor and guide junior consultants; act as SME for payroll-related topics
  • Collaborate with technical teams for custom enhancements, interfaces, and reports
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives and payroll optimization strategies

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • 15+ years of SAP HCM/SF experience with 5+ years in EC Payroll (ECP)
  • Strong hands-on experience in: Payroll schemas and rules (PCRs), Wage type configuration, Payroll control center (PCC), Off-cycle payroll processing
  • Expertise in US payroll (taxation, garnishments, benefits integration)
  • Strong knowledge of SAP SuccessFactors Employee Central, SAP HCM Payroll
  • Experience with integrations using APIs / Middleware (SAP CPI, Dell Boomi, etc.)
  • Understanding of time management and benefits integration
  • Ability to read/debug payroll logs and schema execution
  • Strong data migration and validation experience
  • Experience with reporting tools and audit compliance
  • Proven experience leading global or US payroll implementations
  • Strong stakeholder management and communication skills
  • Ability to work independently in a remote environment
  • Experience working in Agile or hybrid delivery models
