About the Role

The Sr. Manager, People Operations will play a critical role in scaling the operational backbone of the People function during the organization's growth phase. This role ensures the smooth execution of systems, processes, and programs, specifically focusing on payroll, benefits, compliance, and HR systems. The position contributes by building reliable and scalable operations, maintaining compliance and accuracy, and enhancing the employee experience while partnering with cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee payroll, benefits administration, and employee lifecycle operations
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations and maintain operational controls
  • Lead audits related to 401k, payroll, benefits, and compliance
  • Own and update the employee handbook, policies, and People Operations documentation
  • Lead the implementation and optimization of HRIS (ADP), leveraging automation and reporting
  • Design scalable People Operations workflows to replace ad-hoc processes and reduce manual effort
  • Manage benefits administration and vendor relationships, including leading open enrollment
  • Collaborate with leadership to balance benefits quality, cost, and operational rigor
  • Lead and develop the People Operations team with clear expectations and accountability
  • Partner with Finance, Legal, and other stakeholders to address operational risks proactively

Requirements

  • 7-10 years of progressive People Operations experience
  • 2-4 years of experience managing People Operations teams
  • Expertise in payroll operations, compliance, and operational controls with audit experience
  • Proven experience scaling People Operations in a growing company with increasing complexity
  • Strong leadership skills with a focus on coaching and operational execution
  • Ability to maintain high standards for employee data accuracy and organizational reporting

Nice to Have

  • Experience implementing HRIS, specifically ADP
  • Experience partnering closely with Finance teams

Compensation

The pay range and compensation package for this role will be determined based on the candidate's experience, skills, and other relevant factors.
