2. About the Opportunity:
The Manager of People and Talent is responsible for leading recruiting and employee relations functions within the organization. This role ensures timely and effective hiring processes while supporting people-related matters for a remote workforce. It contributes by providing core human resource support, fostering compliance, and maintaining employee relations to support organizational goals.
3. Responsibilities:
• Manage full-cycle recruiting including sourcing, screening, interviewing, and closing candidates.
• Prioritize and handle multiple requisitions with clear communication to hiring managers and candidates.
• Conduct recruiter screens assessing qualifications, motivation, and role alignment.
• Maintain urgency throughout the hiring process with timely outreach and decision follow-up.
• Present qualified candidate slates to hiring managers with relevant context and recommendations.
• Coordinate offer logistics, compensation alignment, and candidate closing strategies.
• Maintain applicant tracking system accuracy and recruiting workflow consistency.
• Serve as a trusted HR resource for employees and managers on people-related issues.
• Coach managers on performance management, employee concerns, corrective actions, and terminations.
• Conduct employee relations investigations and maintain documentation.
• Manage HR operations including HRIS data integrity, personnel records, onboarding, offboarding, benefits support, and policy updates.
• Monitor compliance with employment laws for a multi-state remote workforce and recommend improvements.
• Support compensation benchmarking and market-informed hiring.
• Evaluate recruiting tools, HR vendors, and process improvements.
• Administer engagement surveys and support culture, recognition, and retention initiatives.
• Support remote culture programming such as team events and recognition.
• Partner with leadership on workforce planning aligned with business goals and budgets.
4. Requirements:
• Seven or more years of progressive HR experience with expertise in recruiting and employee relations.
• Proven ability to independently manage full-cycle recruiting.
• Experience managing employee relations matters including performance management, investigations, and terminations.
• Strong knowledge of U.S. multi-state employment law, especially for remote workforces.
• Ability to operate as the sole HR team member.
• Sound judgment regarding issue resolution, escalation, and legal counsel involvement.
• Hands-on experience with HRIS platforms and applicant tracking systems.
• Effective and empathetic communication skills.
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
Nice to Have:
• HR certifications such as SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, PHR, or SPHR.
• Experience in SaaS, technology, or life science sectors.
• Familiarity with clinical research, eClinical, or regulated industries.
• Experience building or improving HR functions in companies under 100 employees.
• Background in compensation benchmarking or total rewards design.
• Experience with international employment and contractors.
5. Pay Range and Compensation Package:
• Base salary range of $105,000 to $115,000.
• Eligibility to participate in an annual bonus incentive.
