About Your Other Half
Your Other Half is an HR consulting firm built for people who love HR, but do not want to do the same job for the same company every day.
We partner with growing small businesses across the U.S. to solve the people challenges that directly impact their teams and their bottom lines. That means our work goes far beyond policies and paperwork. We help business owners build stronger teams, navigate complex employee issues, design better people programs, and create the HR infrastructure they need to grow.
We are a remote-first team of fourteen HR professionals who care deeply about doing excellent work. We move quickly, solve interesting problems, support one another, and operate as true partners to our clients.
Human Resources Client Lead
If you love the variety and strategic exposure of consulting, but want the stability and support of an established team, this role offers both.
As a Human Resources Client Lead, you will become the trusted HR partner for a portfolio of 10 to 20 small businesses. You will work directly with founders and business leaders on everything from employee relations and compliance to compensation, performance management, benefits, organizational design, and the people problems they did not know they had until they called you.
You will not just execute someone else's HR playbook. You will learn each client's business, identify what they need next, recommend solutions, and lead the work from idea through implementation with the support of our broader HR team.
For the right person, there is also meaningful room to grow your portfolio and your earnings over time. This is a role where greater client ownership creates greater opportunity, while still operating within a culture that takes work/life balance seriously.

About you
You are an experienced HR professional who enjoys being both strategic and hands-on. You can move from advising a business owner on a sensitive employee issue to improving a process, reviewing a compensation decision, or building a new HR solution without losing the thread.
You are likely to thrive here if you are:
- An experienced HR operator: You bring at least eight years of relevant HR experience, including at least two years of experience supporting companies or clients with fewer than 100 employees, and you are comfortable working in a fully remote environment.
- A trusted communicator: You write clearly, communicate directly, and know how to give clients the information they need to make good decisions.
- Strong at managing complexity: You can own multiple clients, priorities, and deadlines at once while maintaining a high bar for accuracy and follow-through.
- Client-minded and solutions-oriented: You do not just complete the task in front of you. You look for the underlying business need, identify what could work better, and recommend practical solutions.
- Comfortable with technology: You are confident using modern tools and can quickly learn new systems, including platforms like Asana, Slack, Zoom, Google Workspace, ChatGPT, and other HR software.
- Calm, adaptable, and collaborative: You work well in a fast-moving environment, stay steady when priorities shift, and value feedback, teamwork, and continuous improvement.
The ideal candidate will have:
- Experience working with multiple bosses, clients or projects at one time;
- Calm under pressure and unflappable in the face of timely or urgent requests;
- Able to not only do the work, but also think about how it could be better and more efficient; and
- Have advanced knowledge and/or training in one or more of the following human resources speciality areas: payroll, benefits, total compensation, performance management, policy development, employee onboarding or offboarding, change management, talent acquisition, quantitative survey development and data analysis, qualitative individual or group interviewing and interview data analysis, employee investigations, and/or employee relations.
Work / Life balance is built into the role:
We care deeply about our clients, and we also believe great HR work does not require being available 24/7.
- Your mornings and evenings are yours. Our client response time is 9:00 AM-6:00 PM ET.
- Weekends are protected. We do not expect emails, calls, or Slack availability on weekends.
- Clients do not get your personal cell phone. Communication stays within our professional systems, with a 24-hour email response standard.
- No always-on HR culture. Urgent issues happen, but we have built our model so you are not constantly managing fires after hours.
