Global HR GeneralistLocation: USA

Employment Type: Full-time (Part-time / 0.5+ FTE considered for the right candidate)

About the Role

As Thomas Thor continues to expand its global footprint, we are transitioning to a more structured and scalable HR model. We are looking for a Global HR Generalist / HR Coordinator to support our HR operations, systems, employee experience initiatives, and compliance activities across multiple regions.

In this role, you will be a key member of our global HR function, helping to coordinate HR processes, maintain HR systems, and support employees and managers across the business. You will work closely with regional leaders, operations teams, finance colleagues, and external HR advisors to ensure a positive employee experience and consistent HR practices.

This is an excellent opportunity for an HR professional looking to broaden their international HR experience. Prior knowledge of employment practices across all regions is not required; we are happy to support the right candidate in developing expertise in HR processes and employment practices across the USA, UK, Netherlands, Middle East, France, and other regions as the business grows.

Key Responsibilities1. HR Systems & Process Coordination

  • Support the administration and ongoing development of HiBob, helping to maintain accurate employee records and HR data.
  • Assist with maintaining reporting, permissions, and document storage within the platform.
  • Help develop and improve onboarding, offboarding, and employee lifecycle processes to create a consistent employee experience across regions.
  • Support the maintenance and updating of the Global HR Handbook, including region-specific guidance and documentation.
  • Assist with HR reporting and data management to support business decision-making.

2. Culture & Employee Engagement

  • Support global employee engagement initiatives that help connect our distributed workforce and reinforce Thomas Thor's values.
  • Assist in coordinating cross-regional engagement activities, wellbeing initiatives, and team-building programs.
  • Gather employee feedback and help identify opportunities to improve the employee experience.
  • Contribute to initiatives that support employee retention, engagement, and inclusion across the organization.

3. Payroll Coordination & Finance Partnership

  • Work closely with HR, Finance, and Operations teams to ensure employee information is accurately maintained.
  • Support monthly payroll administration processes, including tracking joiners, leavers, salary changes, and bonuses.
  • Coordinate with external payroll providers to ensure timely and accurate HR data is submitted.
  • Assist with payroll reconciliations and employee data audits where required.

4. HR Compliance & Regional Coordination

  • Support the maintenance of employment contracts, HR policies, and employee documentation across multiple regions.
  • Coordinate with external HR and employment law advisors to help ensure local compliance requirements are met.
  • Provide first-line HR support to managers and employees, escalating complex matters to senior leadership or external advisors when required.
  • Assist with HR compliance projects and documentation reviews across different jurisdictions.

5. Recruitment & Performance Management Support

  • Coordinate recruitment activities, including interview scheduling, candidate communications, onboarding administration, and offer documentation.
  • Support hiring managers and regional leaders in delivering a positive and consistent recruitment experience.
  • Assist with performance management processes, employee development initiatives, and goal-setting cycles within HiBob.
  • Support onboarding and compliance processes for our US contractor workforce in partnership with commercial, operations, and finance teams.

Experience & Qualifications

  • 1–4 years of experience in HR, People Operations, HR Administration, Recruitment, Talent Acquisition, or a related field.
  • Experience supporting employee lifecycle processes such as onboarding, offboarding, employee records management, recruitment coordination, or HR administration.
  • Familiarity with HR systems (HRIS); experience with HiBob is advantageous but not essential.
  • Strong administrative, organizational, and coordination skills with excellent attention to detail.
  • Comfortable working with multiple stakeholders across different teams and locations.
  • Interest in developing knowledge of international HR practices and employment requirements across multiple regions.
  • Experience supporting payroll administration, benefits, compliance activities, or contractor management would be beneficial but is not required.

Skills & Attributes

  • Organized & Detail-Oriented: Able to manage multiple tasks, deadlines, and stakeholder requests effectively.
  • Eager to Learn: Interested in developing expertise in international HR operations, employment practices, and compliance.
  • Collaborative: Builds positive working relationships with colleagues across different teams, functions, and locations.
  • Process Minded: Enjoys improving processes, maintaining accurate records, and helping create efficient ways of working.
  • Strong Communicator: Able to communicate clearly and professionally with employees, managers, and external partners.
  • Adaptable: Comfortable working in a growing international business where priorities may evolve.
  • Proactive: Takes initiative, follows through on tasks, and seeks opportunities to improve the employee experience.

Why Join Thomas Thor?

  • Opportunity to develop international HR experience within a growing global organization.
  • Exposure to HR operations across multiple regions and employment environments.
  • Supportive environment with opportunities for learning and professional development.
  • Flexible working arrangements, including consideration of part-time candidates.
  • Chance to help shape and improve HR processes as the company continues to grow.
