About the Opportunity:
The SENIOR PAYROLL ANALYST, NORTH AMERICA leads payroll operations for U.S. and Canadian employees, ensuring accurate, compliant, and timely payroll processing. This role is responsible for managing payroll cycles, maintaining regulatory compliance, resolving payroll issues, and supporting reporting and analysis to meet business needs. The position also contributes to process improvements and collaborates with various internal teams and vendors, playing a key role in supporting the organization’s financial and people operations.
Responsibilities:
- Manage end-to-end payroll processing for approximately 800 U.S. and Canadian employees on a semi-monthly basis.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state/provincial, and local payroll tax regulations and reporting requirements.
- Resolve payroll issues through coordination with internal and external partners.
- Collaborate with People Operations, Benefits, and external vendors to ensure accurate payroll deductions and transactions.
- Serve as a subject matter expert on payroll laws, best practices, and system capabilities.
- Lead initiatives to standardize and scale payroll processes.
- Assist with year-end activities including tax filings, W-2s, T4s, and audits.
- Mentor and guide the Payroll Administrator.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, or related field, or equivalent education and experience.
- Seven or more years of payroll processing experience, preferably covering both U.S. and Canadian payroll.
- Strong knowledge of payroll tax regulations across relevant jurisdictions.
- Experience with payroll systems; ADP Workforce Now preferred.
- Effective communication skills and customer service orientation.
- High attention to detail, organizational, and analytical skills.
- Ability to handle sensitive information with integrity.
- Experience working in cross-functional teams.
- Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) or equivalent is a plus.
