Role Overview
Rho Nutrition is seeking a detail-oriented, proactive, and people-focused HR Assistant / Junior Generalist to support core HR operations across the employee lifecycle. This role is ideal for an early-career HR professional who is eager to grow within a fast-paced environment and gain hands-on experience across payroll, benefits administration, onboarding and offboarding, HR systems, and day-to-day employee support.
The HR Assistant / Junior Generalist will play an important role in ensuring operational excellence, maintaining accurate employee records, supporting compliance, and helping create a positive employee experience. This individual will partner closely with HR leadership and collaborate cross-functionally with managers and employees across the organization.
What You’ll Own
- Supporting payroll preparation and related administrative processes
- Assisting with employee benefits administration and employee questions
- Maintaining accurate employee records and HRIS data integrity
- Coordinating onboarding and offboarding processes for employees
- Supporting HR operations, compliance, and employee documentation
- Helping deliver a positive and organized employee experience throughout the employee lifecycle
Key Responsibilities:
Payroll & Benefits Support
- Assist with payroll preparation activities including employee data updates, time-off tracking, leave tracking, and payroll change processing
- Help ensure payroll information is accurate, complete, and submitted on schedule
- Support benefits administration activities including enrollments, changes, terminations, billing, leave coordination, and employee communications
- Respond to employee questions related to benefits, payroll, policies, and HR processes
HRIS & Employee Data Management
- Maintain and update employee records within the HRIS, ensuring accuracy and confidentiality
- Support HR reporting, audits, and data validation activities
- Assist with document management and electronic employee file maintenance
- Help improve HR processes and system efficiencies where appropriate
Onboarding & Offboarding
- Coordinate onboarding activities for new hires, including paperwork, system setup, orientation scheduling, and communication
- Ensure a smooth and welcoming onboarding experience for employees
- Manage offboarding processes including exit documentation, system access coordination, and benefits-related communication
Leave Management
- Support employee leave administration processes including tracking leaves of absence, maintaining documentation, and coordinating with employees and managers
- Assist with FMLA, state leave, disability, parental leave, and other applicable leave administration processes
- Coordinate with payroll and benefits providers to ensure accurate leave-related updates and employee records
- Help ensure leave documentation and processes remain compliant and organized
HR Operations & General Support
- Support day-to-day HR administrative and operational activities
- Assist with maintaining compliance with company policies and employment practices
- Prepare HR documents, letters, and employee communications as needed
- Support employee engagement initiatives, meetings, and HR-related projects
- Maintain a high level of professionalism, discretion, and confidentiality
Required Qualifications & Experience
- 1–3 years of experience in an HR, payroll, benefits, or administrative support role
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- High level of discretion and ability to handle confidential information appropriately
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and/or Google Workspace tools
- Experience working with HRIS platforms or related systems (Rippling is preferred)
Additional Preferred Qualifications
- Experience supporting payroll processing, leave management, and/or benefits administration
- Exposure to onboarding and offboarding coordination
- Experience in a consumer products, startup, or high-growth environment
- Familiarity with HR compliance and employee recordkeeping requirements

Compensation
- Estimated salary range $60-70k depending on experience.
