About the Opportunity:
The organization provides a unified payroll platform designed to simplify production payroll and accounting, connecting production, accounting, cast, and crew. The Senior Manager, People Operations will lead policy development, compliance, and operational excellence across the employee lifecycle, while managing and mentoring a People Operations team member. This role partners cross-functionally to ensure streamlined processes and compliance.
Responsibilities:
• Champion organizational values in day-to-day operations
• Oversee data integrity, access management, and workflow optimization within HRIS and operational processes
• Identify and implement automation and efficiency improvements for onboarding, offboarding, and employee lifecycle changes
• Design, draft, and implement scalable people policies (e.g., leaves of absence, accommodations)
• Partner with Legal and Canadian counsel to ensure compliance with established policies
• Collaborate with Payroll, Legal, Finance, and IT for seamless execution of people processes and compliance initiatives
• Represent the People Team in company-wide projects and operational initiatives
• Manage day-to-day People Operations activities, including onboarding, offboarding, and documentation management
• Lead change management efforts for new processes and systems, prioritizing employee impact and adoption
Requirements:
• 7+ years of progressive experience in People/HR Operations, with at least 2+ years of people management experience
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience; HRCI/SHRM certification is a plus
• Expertise in policy development, compliance, and employee lifecycle operations
• Deep knowledge of leave regulations across the U.S. and Canadian jurisdictions
• Proficiency in HR systems, with hands-on experience in system improvements and implementations
• Proven experience in cross-functional collaboration with Payroll, Legal, Finance, and IT
• Ability to balance compliance with employee experience in building scalable processes
• Strong communication skills for translating complex requirements into clear documentation and guidance
