Workday Implementation Expert
Location: Remote – US, Canada or Mexico
We’re partnering with a global organisation looking for an experienced Workday Implementation Expert to join its international implementation team.
This is a senior, hands-on position focused on complex global Workday implementations and integrations, particularly where Workday HCM connects into multi-country payroll environments.
You’ll take ownership of implementations from initial design and discovery through data mapping, testing, parallel runs, go-live and handover, while acting as a senior Workday SME for customers and internal teams.
The Role
- Lead complex, end-to-end Workday implementation and integration projects across multiple countries.
- Own the design and delivery of HR-to-payroll integrations, ensuring Workday operates as the core source of employee data.
- Work across Core HCM, Compensation, Absence and Time Tracking processes.
- Lead data mapping, validation, reconciliation and quality assurance throughout implementations.
- Oversee testing, parallel payroll runs and year-to-date data validation ahead of go-live.
- Identify integration gaps, data issues and process dependencies and lead these through to resolution.
- Partner closely with HR, Payroll, Operations and technical stakeholders across different regions.
- Ensure implementations account for local payroll, statutory and data requirements.
- Act as a senior Workday SME, advising stakeholders on implementation approach, system design and global best practice.
- Support go-live readiness and ensure a smooth transition from implementation into BAU operations.
- Develop implementation documentation, playbooks and internal process standards.
- Identify opportunities to improve implementation delivery through automation and AI.
- Provide peer review and technical guidance across other global implementation projects.
What We’re Looking For
- Extensive experience delivering global Workday implementations and integrations.
- Strong experience connecting Workday with global or multi-country payroll environments.
- Deep understanding of Workday HCM and the wider HR-to-payroll lifecycle.
- Strong knowledge of Core HCM, Compensation, Absence and Time Tracking.
- Experience managing complex data migration, mapping, validation, testing and reconciliation.
- Proven experience taking implementations through the full lifecycle from discovery through to go-live.
- Strong understanding of global payroll processes and the complexities of operating across multiple countries.
- Experience leading complex international projects involving multiple entities and stakeholder groups.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, particularly around system, integration and data issues.
- Confident working with senior stakeholders and providing expert-level guidance.
- Comfortable working autonomously across international teams and time zones.
- Strong understanding of automation and how AI can be used to improve implementation processes.
- Fluent English communication skills.
