G2 Startup Advisors is partnering with a growing client company to hire an experienced, people-first HR Manager. This fully remote role will report directly to a Fractional Chief People Officer (CPO) and will be responsible for owning day-to-day HR operations while supporting thoughtful, scalable people practices.
This role is ideal for someone who enjoys being hands-on, values clarity and consistency, and wants to work closely with leadership to build strong, compliant, and employee-centered HR programs.
What You’ll DoCore HR Operations
- Own and manage core HR processes including onboarding, offboarding, employee records, and HR systems
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws
- Partner with payroll and benefits vendors to ensure accurate and timely administration
- Maintain and evolve employee handbook, policies, and documentation
Employee Experience & Manager Support
- Serve as a trusted point of contact for employees and managers on HR-related questions
- Support managers with performance conversations, feedback, and employee relations matters
- Assist with investigations, corrective actions, and documentation when needed
- Reinforce clear, consistent, and fair people practices across the organization
Performance, Growth & Development
- Support performance management processes and review cycles
- Partner with the Fractional CPO on career development frameworks and growth conversations
- Help managers align individual performance with team and business goals
People Programs & Culture
- Support the implementation of people programs designed by the Fractional CPO
- Assist with engagement initiatives and internal communications
- Contribute to a culture rooted in trust, accountability, and autonomy
Who You Are
- 5+ years of experience in HR or People Operations, ideally in a growing or startup environment
- Strong knowledge of employment law and HR best practices
- Comfortable operating independently while collaborating closely with senior leaders
- Clear, thoughtful communicator with strong judgment and discretion
- Highly organized with strong follow-through
- Passionate about employee growth and strong manager practices
Nice to Have
- Experience working with a fractional or outsourced HR leadership model
- HR certification (PHR, SHRM-CP, etc.)
- Experience supporting remote or distributed teams
