Role Description This is a full-time, remote Payroll Manager role responsible for overseeing end-to-end payroll operations for a diverse employee population. The Payroll Manager will manage payroll processing cycles, ensure accurate and timely payments, and maintain compliance with federal, state, and local regulations. Day-to-day responsibilities include validating time and attendance data, reviewing payroll reports, reconciling payroll accounts, and resolving payroll discrepancies or employee inquiries. The role will also oversee tax withholdings and filings, manage garnishments and other wage orders, and coordinate with HR and Finance on benefits, compensation changes, and reporting needs. The Payroll Manager will continuously review and improve payroll processes, maintain documentation and internal controls, support audits, and leverage payroll systems and tools to drive accuracy and efficiency. Qualifications
- Strong payroll operations foundation, including hands-on experience in Payroll Administration and Payroll Management.
- Proficiency in managing Payroll Taxes, including calculations, withholdings, filings, and compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.
- Experience handling Garnishments and other wage orders, with careful attention to legal requirements and documentation.
- Knowledge of Employee Benefits and how they interact with payroll, including deductions, employer contributions, and adjustments.
- Demonstrated ability to work with payroll and HRIS systems, advanced Excel skills, and strong numerical accuracy.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple deadlines in a remote environment.
- Clear written and verbal communication skills and a strong focus on confidentiality and data privacy.
- Relevant experience in payroll for multi-state or multi-location organizations; CPP or similar certification is a plus.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, HR, Business, or equivalent work experience.
