About The Role
Deepgram is seeking a highly experienced Senior Human Resources Business Partner (HRBP) to join our growing, remote-first organization. This inaugural HRBP role will serve as a strategic partner to leaders across all levels, supporting employee relations, performance management, manager effectiveness, and scalable HR practices. Reporting directly to the Head of People, the HRBP will collaborate cross-functionally with teams including People Operations, Legal, Finance, and Recruiting to ensure our HR programs, policies, and processes are effective, compliant, and aligned with our evolving business needs. This role requires a proactive, judgment-driven individual capable of navigating complex situations with confidence, fostering a high-performance culture, and enabling organizational growth in a fast-paced environment. Occasional travel to company offsites and team meetings may be required to facilitate in-person engagement and alignment.
Qualifications
- 7–10+ years of HR experience, including at least 5 years in an HR Business Partner role within high-growth or complex environments
- Deep expertise in employee relations, performance management, and manager coaching
- Strong business judgment with the ability to quickly understand organizational context and guide leaders through difficult decisions
- Experience supporting remote or distributed teams, preferably in a startup or rapidly scaling organization
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with a high level of discretion and professionalism
- Knowledge of employment laws and compliance standards across multiple jurisdictions
- Demonstrated ability to operate effectively in a fast-paced, evolving environment with shifting priorities
- Proficiency in HR systems, tools, and workflows to enhance efficiency and employee experience
Responsibilities
- Serve as the primary point of contact for employee relations issues, including performance concerns, interpersonal conflicts, investigations, and complex workplace scenarios
- Coach managers through difficult conversations, feedback delivery, performance management, and documentation processes
- Partner with leaders to translate company strategy into effective people practices, ensuring alignment with business goals
- Identify patterns and systemic issues early, recommending practical, upstream interventions to improve organizational health
- Support performance management processes, including goal-setting, feedback cycles, and manager capability development
- Assist in designing organizational structures, talent planning, and succession strategies that promote sustainable growth and high performance
- Help navigate underperformance, clarify roles, and manage organizational change effectively
- Contribute to the development and refinement of HR processes, templates, documentation, and manager resources to scale efficiently
- Partner on the implementation of HR tools and workflows that improve consistency, compliance, and employee experience
- Ensure adherence to employment laws and regulations across all applicable jurisdictions, supporting leave administration and complex employee situations
- Collaborate with Legal, Finance, and People Operations to maintain compliant and defensible HR practices aligned with company values
