The Talent Acquisition Specialist / HR Generalist plays a key role in supporting Cartessa’s rapidly growing organization by managing full-cycle recruitment, providing HR operational support, and delivering an exceptional employee experience. This role partners closely with the Director of Administration, Senior HR leadership, and hiring managers nationwide to ensure that Cartessa attracts, hires, and retains top-tier talent aligned with our company values and business goals.
This position blends hands-on recruitment responsibilities with HR generalist duties, including onboarding, employee support, policy implementation, data accuracy, and cross-functional coordination. The Specialist provides insights into the talent market, supports workforce planning, and ensures seamless execution of both recruitment activities and HR processes in a fast-paced, high-growth environment.
Location
This is a fully remote position based in the United States. Occasional travel to HQ (Melville, NY) or team meetings may be required.
Essential Job Functions
Talent Acquisition
• Manage full-cycle recruitment for a variety of roles, including sales, clinical, operations, corporate, and technical positions.
• Partner with hiring managers to assess staffing needs, define candidate profiles, and create effective recruitment strategies.
• Conduct intake meetings and maintain strong communication throughout the hiring process.
• Develop and execute sourcing strategies to attract diverse, high-quality candidates.
• Screen, interview, and evaluate candidates to ensure alignment with Cartessa’s competencies and values.
• Maintain and optimize the Applicant Tracking System (ATS); provide training and troubleshooting for managers and candidates.
• Coordinate relationships with external recruiting agencies when needed.
• Support the development and tracking of Talent Acquisition metrics and KPI reporting.
HR Generalist Responsibilities
• Support onboarding and ensure all new hires are processed accurately, compliantly, and on time.
• Assist with HR policy administration, procedure adherence, and process improvements.
• Provide employee support by answering questions related to HR systems, policies, benefits, and general inquiries.
• Partner with People Operations on employee lifecycle events (promotions, transfers, separations, leaves of absence).
• Maintain accurate employee data across systems such as ADP, NetSuite, Zoho, and internal trackers.
• Assist with compliance activities, including background checks, I-9 verification, and required documentation.
• Contribute to the development of HR initiatives that strengthen Cartessa’s culture and employee experience.

Minimum Qualifications / Skills
Experience
• 3–5 years of full-cycle recruiting experience, preferably in medical device, healthcare, sales, or high-growth environments.
• Experience supporting HR operations, onboarding, or generalist responsibilities.
• Strong ability to build relationships, advise hiring managers, and drive processes forward.
• Experience sourcing passive talent and using platforms like LinkedIn Recruiter preferred.
• Excellent organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to handle sensitive information with professionalism and confidentiality.
Education / Licensure
• Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business, or related field; or equivalent experience.
