Position Summary

The Human Resources Generalist is the operational backbone of our People function. Reporting to the Chief Operating Officer and partnering closely with functional leaders across Sales, Services, and Revenue Operations, this role owns the day-to-day execution of HR programs across the full employee lifecycle.

This is a hands-on role for an experienced HR professional who can move fluidly between recruiting coordination, onboarding, employee relations, benefits administration, performance management, compliance, and HRIS work. The right candidate is comfortable building processes from scratch in some areas and refining mature systems in others. They are a credible thought partner to leadership and a trusted resource to every employee in the company.

Key ResponsibilitiesTalent Acquisition and Recruiting

  • Own full-cycle recruiting for assigned requisitions across sales, services, technical, and corporate roles, from intake through offer acceptance.
  • Manage candidate experience end-to-end including timely communication, interview logistics, debrief facilitation, and offer negotiation support.
  • Build and refine job descriptions and compensation bands in partnership with functional leaders to ensure roles are positioned competitively in market.
  • Manage external recruiting partners including agencies, contract recruiters, and university relationships where applicable.
  • Coordinate background checks, employment verifications, reference checks, and I-9 compliance including E-Verify where applicable.

Onboarding

  • Own the new hire experience from offer acceptance through 90 days, including pre-boarding logistics, first-day orientation, and structured check-ins.
  • Coordinate system provisioning, equipment shipping, and remote workstation setup with IT to ensure new hires are productive on day one.
  • Maintain and improve onboarding playbooks for technical and non-technical roles to ensure consistent ramp-up across the company.
  • Run 30/60/90-day check-ins with new hires and their managers, surfacing early signals and feedback to leadership.

Employee Relations and Engagement

  • Serve as the first point of contact for employee questions on policies, benefits, payroll, and workplace concerns.
  • Plan and execute engagement initiatives including pulse surveys, recognition programs, and company events.

Performance Management and Compensation

  • Administer & Support compensation operations including merit cycle administration, promotion documentation, commission plan acknowledgments, and offer letter generation.

Benefits and Total Rewards

  • Administer benefits programs including medical, dental, vision, 401(k), and ancillary benefits, serving as the day-to-day liaison to brokers and carriers.
  • Lead annual open enrollment including communications, employee education sessions, and system configuration.
  • Process leave of absence requests (FMLA, ADA, parental, state-specific) with appropriate documentation and tracking.

Compliance and Policy

  • Maintain the employee handbook and ensure policies remain current with federal, state, and local employment law.
  • Lead multi-state employment compliance for a fully remote, distributed workforce, including state-specific registrations, wage and hour requirements, paid leave laws, and tax setup in coordination with Finance.
  • Maintain confidential personnel records in accordance with retention requirements.

HRIS, Reporting, and Operations

  • Serve as the system administrator for the HRIS (BambooHR or equivalent), maintaining data integrity, workflows, and integrations.
  • Document and continuously improve HR processes to ensure scalability as the company grows.

Required Qualifications

  • Experience: 4 to 7 years of progressive HR experience, with at least 2 years in a generalist capacity covering multiple HR disciplines.
  • Full-cycle recruiting: Demonstrated experience owning full-cycle recruiting across multiple functions, including sourcing, screening, interview coordination, and offer negotiation. Working knowledge of at least one modern ATS (Greenhouse, Lever, Workable, JazzHR, BambooHR ATS, or similar).
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Organizational Development, or a related field; equivalent combination of experience and certification will be considered.
  • Compliance fluency: Working knowledge of federal employment law (FLSA, FMLA, ADA, Title VII, ADEA, PWFA) and demonstrated experience administering HR in a multi-state environment.
  • Systems: Hands-on experience with at least one modern HRIS platform (BambooHR, Rippling, Gusto, ADP, Paylocity, or similar) and proficiency in Microsoft Office and Google Workspace.
  • Discretion: Demonstrated track record of handling confidential information with sound judgment and professionalism.
  • Communication: Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to translate policy into clear guidance for employees and managers.

Preferred Qualifications

  • SHRM-SCP, SPHR, or specialized certifications (CEBS, CCP, GPHR) in addition to the core required credential.
  • Experience supporting a professional services, software, or technology company in growth mode.
  • Familiarity with sales compensation administration, including variable pay and commission plan operations.
