About The Role The Benefits Data Analyst supports the Client Open Enrollment Team and plays a vital role in managing and analyzing health benefits data. This position involves performing data retrieval, reporting, and processing functions that underpin the company's comprehensive open enrollment processes. The analyst will gather data from various sources, compile and analyze results, and develop insightful reports that inform decision-making. The role requires a keen eye for detail, strong analytical skills, and the ability to interpret complex data sets within the context of healthcare and benefits industry standards. The Benefits Data Analyst collaborates with multiple stakeholders, including management and external carriers, to ensure accurate data management, reporting, and compliance with policies. Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience required
  • Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Economics, Business Administration, or related field preferred
  • Minimum of 2+ years of experience working with relational databases and complex spreadsheets
  • Experience in healthcare analytics and/or insurance industry preferred
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, with advanced skills required
  • Familiarity with data warehouse systems and database applications preferred
  • Knowledge of medical utilization terminology and analysis is a plus
  • Strong critical thinking, problem-solving, and analytical skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication abilities
  • Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines
  • Experience with data querying, reporting, and reconciliation processes

Responsibilities

  • Analyze client performance by producing detailed reports and reconciling large, disparate data sets
  • Interpret claims, fees, and conditions data to assess current and forecasted financial performance
  • Create and maintain client costing tools to support benefit plan analysis
  • Understand and integrate multiple data sources to enhance data infrastructure and reporting efficiency
  • Design and develop database queries following development standards across various database applications
  • Collaborate with management and stakeholders to gather, analyze, and summarize data requests
  • Assist with annual client renewal processes for medical, dental, and other healthcare benefits
  • Document business requirements to ensure system and process accuracy
  • Validate carrier rates and ensure data accuracy for benefit calculations
  • Perform additional duties as assigned to support team objectives
  • Ensure compliance with all company policies and industry standards
