About the Opportunity

The Sr. Manager, Global Payroll & HRIS leads payroll operations and HRIS initiatives, with a primary focus on U.S. payroll. This role ensures accurate and compliant payroll processing, strengthens scalable payroll practices, and partners with Finance, HR, Benefits, Compensation, and Treasury teams to support a growing global workforce. The position also oversees payroll operations across international locations operating under PEO arrangements and drives HRIS data integrity, reporting, analytics, and process improvements.

Responsibilities

• Manage U.S. payroll operations, including bi-weekly, off-cycle, and incentive payrolls.

• Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local U.S. payroll tax requirements across applicable jurisdictions.

• Partner with the Benefits team to manage employee contribution and eligibility changes affecting payroll.

• Process off-cycle payments, including severance, bonuses, reimbursements, and other special payments.

• Oversee payroll validation for exempt and non-exempt employees to ensure accuracy and compliance.

• Prepare and validate annual W-2s and coordinate tax filings with external payroll and tax partners.

• Respond to unemployment claims, wage verification requests, garnishments, and other payroll-related inquiries.

• Use advanced Excel capabilities to analyze and manage complex payroll datasets.

• Develop scalable payroll processes, controls, and procedures to support organizational growth.

• Build strong partnerships with Finance, HR, Compensation, Benefits, Treasury, and other cross-functional stakeholders.

• Oversee payroll compliance and local practices across EU markets and other international locations operating under PEO arrangements.

• Lead HRIS data integrity initiatives, including process flows, reporting, analytics, and system improvements.

• Leverage AI and automation opportunities to improve HRIS reporting, payroll processes, and operational efficiency.

• Establish effective controls and documentation to support payroll accuracy, compliance, and audit readiness.

• Provide strategic guidance on payroll and HRIS operations to leadership and key stakeholders.

Requirements

• Minimum 12 years of progressive experience in payroll, HR operations, HRIS, or related functions, including senior leadership experience.

• Proven experience leading significant payroll, HRIS, or people operations functions.

• Strong knowledge of U.S. payroll processing and payroll tax compliance across multiple jurisdictions.

• Experience managing international payroll operations, preferably within PEO or multi-country environments.

• Demonstrated ability to develop scalable processes, controls, and operational strategies.

• Strong financial and operational management skills, including experience working with complex payroll data.

• Advanced Excel skills and strong analytical capabilities.

• Experience with HRIS platforms, data integrity, reporting, and process management.

• Strong strategic planning and long-term execution skills.

• Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional initiatives and influence senior stakeholders.

• Strong executive-level presentation, communication, and influencing skills.

• Experience with leader development, team management, and succession planning.

• Ability to operate effectively in a fast-paced, global environment while managing multiple priorities.

Pay Range and Compensation Package

• Annual base salary range: $130,000–$160,000 USD.

• Eligibility for additional annual bonus compensation through applicable incentive plans.

• Actual compensation may vary based on experience, skills, abilities, internal equity, market data, and other relevant factors.
