About the Opportunity:

The Payroll Manager is responsible for overseeing all aspects of payroll operations and tax compliance within the organization, ensuring accuracy and timeliness in payroll activities. This role manages payroll data, reconciles records, addresses discrepancies, and ensures compliance with payroll tax regulations across federal, state, and local jurisdictions. The Payroll Manager utilizes Workday Payroll integrated with ADP to process regular, commission, bonus, and related pay.

Responsibilities:

• Manage end-to-end payroll process by compiling and validating data, resolving discrepancies, and transmitting accurate information to the payroll vendor.

• Ensure timely submission of employee and employer 401(k) contributions to the retirement vendor.

• Resolve missed punches and time attendance discrepancies through thorough review and adjustments.

• Maintain accurate, up-to-date payroll data for regular, commission, bonus, and related payrolls.

• Oversee payroll administration and record-keeping, including taxes, garnishments, deductions, and earnings.

• Collaborate with Finance and Accounts Payable to support related financial processes.

• Monitor and resolve payroll discrepancies promptly to maintain employee satisfaction.

• Ensure timely and accurate filing of payroll tax returns at all jurisdictional levels.

• Conduct audits of payroll tax transactions for accuracy and compliance.

• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual tax filings and returns with accurate record maintenance.

• Stay updated on payroll legislation and provide guidance on compliance.

• Respond to employee payroll inquiries, delivering quality customer service.

• Facilitate annual audits by providing accurate payroll data for 401(k) audits.

• Create, document, and update Standard Operating Procedures for payroll processes.

• Generate and present payroll reports detailing expenses, tax liabilities, and key metrics.

• Develop and update payroll policies and procedures to ensure legal and company compliance.

Requirements:

• Extensive knowledge of full-cycle payroll processing, balancing, auditing, and tax compliance.

• Proven ability to perform under tight and recurring deadlines.

• Strong attention to detail and accuracy in payroll processing and reporting.

• In-depth knowledge of federal, state, and local payroll tax regulations.

• Commitment to confidentiality and data security for payroll information.

• Strong analytical skills and ability to interpret financial records.

• Ability to collaborate with HR, finance, and other departments to resolve payroll issues.

• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, Accounting, Human Resources, Payroll Tax, or related field, or equivalent experience (two years of related experience per year of education).

• Minimum six years of experience managing full-cycle payroll processing and tax compliance.

• Recent experience with Workday Payroll, including proficiency in payroll processing and data management.
