2. About the Opportunity:
The Human Resources Specialist supports core HR functions including benefits administration, leave management, payroll coordination, and compliance. This role ensures accurate HR operations, regulatory adherence, and enhances the employee experience by serving as a subject matter expert. The position contributes by managing critical HR processes that impact workforce integration, engagement, and operational efficiency.
3. Responsibilities:
• Implement and improve onboarding processes to ensure compliance and effective new hire integration
• Coordinate onboarding logistics and documentation including I-9s and background checks
• Serve as primary contact for benefits inquiries and manage enrollments, life events, and terminations
• Track benefits data, audit deductions, reconcile invoices, and collaborate with vendors
• Support annual benefits open enrollment and employee engagement initiatives
• Oversee timekeeping system accuracy and compliance; review timecards and monitor paid time off
• Prepare and audit payroll data including hours, bonuses, deductions, and final payments
• Manage leave requests (FMLA, ADA, PDL, workers’ compensation, accommodations) and maintain records
• Serve as employee contact for leave eligibility, documentation, and return-to-work coordination
• Ensure compliance with leave regulations and partner with payroll on compensation during leave
• Maintain HR records with confidentiality and audit readiness
• Support compliance with federal, state, institutional, accreditation, and internal policies
• Generate reports, manage exit processes, and track performance reviews and training certifications
• Analyze HR metrics to support engagement, retention, and operational goals
• Assist with special HR projects and promote participation in HR programs and organizational culture
• Follow communication and compliance guidelines to ensure professionalism and satisfaction
4. Requirements:
• Bachelor’s degree; HR certifications preferred
• 2-3 years of progressive HR experience with expertise in at least two core HR functions
• Experience with Paylocity and/or Employee Navigator a plus
• Knowledge of human resource practices and employment laws preferred
• Strong communication, organizational, and planning skills
• Ability to handle confidential information ethically and professionally
• Self-motivated with strong work ethic and attention to detail
• Analytical and problem-solving skills with business acumen
• Proficient in MS Office applications; adaptable to changing environments
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced setting
• May require work outside normal business hours
5. Pay Range and Compensation Package:
• The pay range and compensation package for this role will be determined based on the candidate’s experience, skills, and other relevant factors.
