It addresses the complexities of multi-state payroll processing, HRIS management, benefits administration, and compliance with federal and state employment regulations. 2. About the Opportunity:
The **HR & Payroll Generalist** is responsible for managing and optimizing core HR operational functions, including payroll processing, HRIS administration, and benefits management. This role ensures compliance and accuracy throughout employee lifecycle processes and collaborates with leadership and finance teams to align payroll and HR operations with business goals. The position plays a pivotal role in maintaining multi-state compliance and enhancing HR system efficiencies.
3. Responsibilities:
• Manage end-to-end multi-state payroll processing including commissions, bonuses, and adjustments.
• Collaborate with Finance and Operations teams for bonus and incentive payroll calculations.
• Maintain payroll systems for timely and accurate transaction processing.
• Process payroll updates such as new hires, terminations, leaves, and pay rate changes.
• Ensure compliance with wage, tax, and labor laws across multiple jurisdictions.
• Reconcile payroll and support audits with Finance.
• Address payroll inquiries and resolve discrepancies promptly.
• Manage and submit EEO-1, BLS, and DOL multi-worksite reports.
• Administer the Rippling HRIS system, maintaining data integrity and optimizing configurations.
• Lead HRIS enhancements and ensure compliance with regulatory notices.
• Oversee employee benefits programs and administer enrollment, communications, and vendor relations.
• Handle benefits compliance including ACA, COBRA, and FMLA.
• Resolve benefit inquiries and manage unemployment claims.
• Develop and improve HR operational processes ensuring audit readiness.
• Partner with field leaders for workforce and payroll support.
• Collaborate with Finance on labor reporting and budgeting.
• Support strategic HR initiatives and manage daily HR department workflows.
4. Requirements:
• Bachelor’s degree in Business or Human Resources preferred.
• Minimum 5 years progressive HR operations experience.
• Proven experience managing multi-state payroll for 600+ employees.
• Hands-on experience with HRIS platforms; Rippling experience strongly preferred.
• Solid knowledge of wage and hour laws, payroll compliance, and benefits regulations.
• Experience in retail, multi-unit, or service-based environments preferred.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced setting.
• Expertise in payroll compliance and process optimization.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and collaboration skills.
• High discretion and confidentiality.
5. Pay Range and Compensation Package:
• Base salary range of $65,000-$70,000 plus up to 20% annual bonus.
