Business Operations Assistant (Remote – UK Based)Salary: £35,000 – £40,000 + benefitsFully remote | UK-wide | 40 hours (flexible working)About the Company

This is a rare opportunity to join a fast-growing, specialist consultancy operating at the heart of the UK’s most complex and high-profile infrastructure projects. Founded in 2020, the business works across major national programmes including large-scale transport, energy and utilities projects, helping organisations reduce risk, improve delivery and keep critical programmes on track. Despite being a relatively young company, the team brings decades of experience and has quickly established itself as a trusted partner within the industry.

The Opportunity

You’ll work directly alongside the Chief of Staff, acting as her right-hand support across the business. This is a high-trust, high-impact role sitting at the centre of operations, finance and HR. You’ll play a key part in ensuring the business runs smoothly day-to-day, while supporting continued growth.

What You’ll Be Doing

This is a broad, varied role covering:

Finance

  • Managing timesheet discipline across the business
  • Processing expenses and supporting invoice management
  • Running financial reports and tracking monthly data
  • Contributing to monthly business reporting

HR & People

  • Coordinating recruitment processes and logistics
  • Managing onboarding and offboarding
  • Maintaining HR records and documentation
  • Supporting performance reviews
  • Overseeing benefits, insurances and engagement
  • Organising team events

Operations

  • Managing supplier relationships
  • Maintaining digital filing systems and document control
  • Overseeing audit trackers and internal databases
  • Coordinating virtual meetings (presentations, notes, follow-ups)
  • Supporting compliance processes (including ISO audits)
  • Managing shared inboxes and general admin

What They’re Looking For

This role would suit someone who is:

  • Highly organised and detail-oriented
  • Proactive and able to take initiative without direction
  • Comfortable working in a fully remote, independent environment
  • A strong communicator with excellent written English
  • Confident across finance, admin and operational tasks

This is ideally suited to someone experienced who is looking for a slightly lighter, flexible role (for example, a working parent), rather than someone at the very start of their career.

Skills & Experience

  • Strong working knowledge of accounts / financial tracking / forecasting
  • Experience using Xero (or similar accounting software)
  • Good Microsoft Office skills (Excel particularly useful)
  • Experience with tools such as ProjectWorks or CMap is advantageous
