For our client, we are seeking a Payroll Manager to join the team of a leader in the Finance & Insurance space.

This role will oversee end-to-end payroll operations across the U.S., Canada, and Puerto Rico, with a strong emphasis on accuracy, compliance, and service excellence. The Payroll Manager will partner with senior leadership, vendors, and internal stakeholders to strengthen payroll strategy, reporting, and execution. In addition, this person will lead a team while driving automation and process improvements that enhance efficiency and control.

Location: Remote - US based candidates only, no visa sponsorship available

Compensation: $100,000 – $120,000 annually

Responsibilities

  • Oversee end-to-end payroll processes, ensuring accuracy and compliance
  • Lead and develop a high-performing payroll team, fostering a culture of accountability
  • Deliver payroll reports and KPIs, utilizing analytics to drive improvements
  • Collaborate with senior leadership on payroll strategy and operations
  • Manage relationships with payroll vendors to optimize service delivery
  • Drive automation and digital enhancements in payroll processes
  • Provide expert guidance on payroll-related compliance and regulatory issues

Qualifications

  • 7+ years of progressive payroll experience with multistate exposure in the U.S.
  • Strong knowledge of Canadian and Puerto Rican payroll processes
  • In-depth understanding of payroll laws and compliance in North America
  • Experience leading or managing multi-country payroll teams
  • Proficiency in payroll systems including Workday, ADP, and Deel
  • Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills for reporting and data interpretation
  • High level of computer literacy, particularly in Excel and Word
