Role Overview

The HR Manager at Flat Rock is a senior generalist role focused on delivering and embedding HR projects, processes, and day-to-day people operations across the organisation.

Working closely with the Chief People Officer, this role will support the execution of the people strategy, partner with managers across the business, and play a key role in rolling out scalable HR initiatives that support Flat Rock’s growth and culture.

This is a hands-on role, suited to someone who enjoys building structure, improving processes, and supporting managers through change. Flat Rock is a growing business with offices across multiple locations, and travel will be required.

Key ResponsibilitiesHR Operations & Delivery

  • Deliver and manage core HR activities across the employee lifecycle, including recruitment, onboarding, performance management, employee relations, learning & development, reward, and offboarding.
  • Ensure HR policies and procedures are consistently applied across the business and kept up to date.
  • Maintain accurate HR data, reporting, and documentation to support compliance and decision-making.
  • Act as the first point of contact for managers on people-related matters, escalating to the CPO where appropriate.

Manager Support & Capability Building

  • Support managers to effectively lead their teams, manage performance, and handle employee issues confidently and consistently.
  • Contribute to the design and delivery of management development and training initiatives.
  • Promote consistent people management practices across all teams and locations.
  • Support talent development and succession planning activities.

HR Projects & Process Improvement

  • Lead and support the rollout of HR projects such as performance frameworks, career pathways, engagement initiatives, and organisational changes.
  • Ensure new HR processes are clearly communicated, embedded, and adopted across the organisation.
  • Continuously review and improve HR processes to ensure they are scalable, efficient, and fit for a growing business.
  • Support change management activity in partnership with the CPO and business leaders.

Culture, Engagement & Employee Experience

  • Support employee engagement initiatives and feedback mechanisms.
  • Contribute to the development of a high-performance culture through clear processes, regular reviews, and development planning.
  • Champion wellbeing, inclusion, and positive employee experience initiatives.
  • Act as a role model for Flat Rock’s values and expected behaviours.

Skills & Experience

  • Proven experience in a Senior HR Manager or HR Manager role.
  • Strong generalist HR background with experience across the full employee lifecycle.
  • Solid experience supporting or delivering learning and development initiatives.
  • Demonstrated experience working with managers to build leadership and people management capability.
  • Proven ability to roll out HR projects, processes, or systems in a growing or changing environment.
  • Good working knowledge of employee engagement and HR best practice.
  • Commercially aware, with the ability to balance business needs and people priorities.
  • Strong communication, stakeholder management, and influencing skills.
