About the role

About The Role

The role owns the day-to-day operations that keep people programs running: onboarding, benefits administration, policy implementation, and employee relations support across a fast-growing remote team.

You will act as a first point of contact for employees on HR questions, translate policy into practice, and partner with recruiting, finance, and leadership to build processes that scale past the next few hundred hires.

Key Responsibilities

  • Own end-to-end onboarding for new hires, including I-9/E-verify compliance, equipment coordination, and orientation programming
  • Administer benefits programs and open enrollment, serving as the first line of support for employee questions and escalations
  • Manage HRIS data integrity and workflows in tools like Rippling, BambooHR, or Workday, including approvals, org changes, and reporting
  • Support employee relations investigations and documentation, partnering with leadership and counsel as needed
  • Draft, update, and operationalize HR policies and handbook content for a distributed, multi-state workforce
  • Coordinate performance review cycles, engagement surveys, and learning programs, tracking participation and follow-through
  • Produce regular people-metrics reports (headcount, turnover, time-to-productivity) for leadership review

What We Are Looking For

  • 3-6 years of HR Generalist or People Operations experience, ideally in technology or high-growth companies
  • Working knowledge of employment law fundamentals across multiple states, including California
  • Hands-on HRIS experience (Rippling, BambooHR, Workday, or similar) and comfort building reports in Sheets or Excel
  • Experience administering benefits, leaves of absence (FMLA, CFRA), and onboarding compliance
  • Strong written communication and the ability to handle sensitive information with discretion
  • Bachelor's degree in HR, Business, or related field, or equivalent practical experience
  • Bonus: PHR/SHRM-CP certification, experience with equity/comp administration, or prior remote-first company experience
