People Partner (Part-Time, Flexible) – Buckland CareLocation: Mainly Remote (ideally based in the South or South West of the UK), occasional visits to our care homes as and when required.
Contract: Permanent, 3–4 days per week (flexible working pattern – to be discussed at interview)
Hours: Flexible, apart from when specific meetings are required

About the Role
We’re looking for a friendly, experienced People Partner to join our team and provide practical, proactive HR support to our care homes and leadership teams.
This is a standalone HR role, meaning you’ll be the only dedicated HR professional within the company. You’ll work independently while liaising with our insurer’s employment law team for guidance and support on employment law matters.
It’s a fantastic opportunity for someone who enjoys building relationships, solving problems, and making a real difference to workplace culture. You’ll have the autonomy to manage your own workload, with flexibility around hours and working pattern, and occasional visits to our homes when needed.
The role would suit someone looking for a flexible, part-time position within a values-driven organisation.
About Us
Buckland Care is a long-established, family-run group of residential and nursing homes across the South and West of England. We’re proud to combine the professionalism of a larger care provider with the warmth, care and personal touch of a family business.
Everything we do is rooted in our values – kindness, respect, and compassion – both for our residents and for our teams. We genuinely care about the people who work with us and believe that a supportive workplace brings out the best in everyone.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Acting as the primary HR contact across the business, providing clear, practical advice to managers on all people matters, including employee relations, grievances, performance, and absence management.
- Liaising with our insurer’s employment law team for expert advice on complex or legal issues.
- Supporting leaders to create positive, engaged teams and a great working environment.
- Helping to implement people initiatives and projects that enhance culture, wellbeing, and retention.
- Ensuring our policies and processes are fair, consistent, and up to date with employment law.
- Working collaboratively with colleagues across the business to ensure our approach to people is consistent and aligned with our values.
- Using insight and feedback to continuously improve how we support our teams, including reporting on retention and sickness rates.
What We’re Looking For
- 8+ years’ experience in HR, ideally in a People Partner or HR Business Partner role.
- CIPD Level 5 qualification (minimum) – Level 7 would be a bonus.
- Solid understanding of UK employment law and HR best practice.
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
- A hands-on, approachable style and a genuine passion for supporting people.
- An understanding of requirements of working within a regulated environment.
- Experience within the care or healthcare sector would be an advantage but isn’t essential.
What We Offer
- Flexible, family-friendly working arrangements.
- Competitive salary and benefits.
- Opportunities for ongoing learning and development.
- The chance to make a meaningful impact in a company that truly values its people.
